7 Tips to Help You Stop Living from Paycheque to Paycheque

Are you tired of living paycheque to paycheque? I was one of those people until I chose to make matters into my own hands. Yes, we have responsibilities like bills and living expenses but let me ask you a question.

How does your savings account look? Do you even have a savings account? if your answers are NO to both these questions something must change and stop making excuses.

What are those excuses you ask? Well I don’t earn enough to save a dime after paying my expenses. Get a grip because sitting and whining won’t change your financial situation. Become proactive in making things better because financial stability is achievable. Here are 7 Tips to help you stop living from paycheque to paycheque.

Get out of debt

Get out of DEBT and stay out. People need to learn the difference between bad debt and good debt. Everything is financed. Why would you want to buy clothes on credit? Makes no sense. As soon as you can become debt free, you will feel free. Like I said before living within your means is much more peaceful than being in debt.

Do online surveys

You can do online surveys that can supplement your income. I wrote about my favourite survey sites here to find out more. They pay in cash and vouchers it all up to you when you redeem your points.

Lay-Bye

Most stores allow you to lay-bye clothes and furniture if you don’t have the cash to buy. It’s a better option than opting for being in debt and paying ridiculously high interest rates. The stores I am aware of include Ackermans, Studio 88 and Fair Price to name a few.

Never pay the full price

Always wait for sales to get those sneakers you have been eyeing but they are too pricey for you to buy. This will also help you learn to stop buying things you don’t really need.

Grocery Scanning Club

I have been a member of the GFK grocery scanning club for years now and all you have do is scan your groceries you buy and earn points that can be redeemed for Takealot vouchers. Totally worth it to scan through out the year then redeem just before Christmas. To buy those gifts without spending your money or bonuses. It is totally free to join, and they have an app too now.

Embrace the Minimalist Life

Embrace the life of less is more. We tend to have a lot of junk in our houses that we don’t use at all.

Track your spending

Tracking your spending makes you liable and accountable of what you are spending your money on.
