Quick Anniversary Escape Destination
Valentine’s Day may have passed but it is still very much the month of love. I believe in a gift of experience over material things and travel and gateways fall into that category.
As this is the month of love a time for couples to spend time together and reconnect with each other. It is less about flowers and chocolates for me.
Our wedding anniversary is coming up and I have been thinking about a quick anniversary escape destination.
That won’t break the bank since I am on a journey to financial freedom.
My husband is a workaholic and having children does not make it any easier to get away.
I don’t remember the last time we even had date night, so this is overdue for us as a couple and for our marriage.
I made a vow to myself that this year I will travel more locally by myself or with my husband as well.
What better way to kick off the year of affordable adventure by starting with our 10 years wedding anniversary.
Quick Anniversary Escape Destination
Here are some quick anniversary escape destinations, and I am proudly picking South African destinations because they are cheap and affordable.
Johannesburg
I might be biased since I was born and bred in Johannesburg.
My home town has a lot to offer from the beautiful Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens, Neighbourhoods Market, Maboneng Precinct and museums just to name a few.
You can also book cultural tours to see the city.
Cape Town
I loved the mother city, even though I only visited Cape Town once in my life and I thought it was beautiful.
It is just that the weather is unpredictable and their beaches are ice-cold and the weather sun is scorching hot.
Other than that they have the beautiful Stellenboch, Table Mountain and more.
Durban
Durban also has beautiful beaches. The atmosphere is laid back and there are wonderful spots from Ballito to Umhlanga.
What I love about Durban is the warm beaches total opposite of Cape Town beaches.
I spent four years of my high school years in Durban and while I was there I saw the Ushaka Marine World and Sibaya Casino being built.
I have never been to the Sibaya Casino in Umhlanga but it is on my bucket list for when I visit Durban again.
Durban is a total opposite of Johannesburg is calm and laid back to the fast Johannesburg lifestyle.
If affordability is not an issue then you can jet set out of the country to a country of your choice.
There are other romantic international destinations that you can visit from Mauritius, Seychelles, the city of love Paris or Italy.
These destinations are definitely on my bucket list.
It just depends on what kind of quick anniversary escape destination you may be looking for.
