Things I hate about technology

Last week I wrote about things I love about technology but I also have things that Β really annoy me about technology. I will be telling you about the things I hate about technology.

Social Media: as much as things like Facebook were created to keep in touch with family and friends it is really annoying when people publicize their private life. I don’t need to talk to a friend to know that her relationship is not going well or she is upset with hubby or wife.

Too much Information: Have you ever googled yourself (let’s say you are not a blogger) it is scary how much information the internet is gathered about us is really too much.

Β Googled my sister the other day and oh my goodness I was shocked google reveals everything, including people you may be connected to including pictures.

Family Time: Dinner time is a time for the family to sit around the table and just chat, but oh hell no, not these days. You look around everyone is busy on their phone either on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram.

As much as social media is meant to connect us its disconnecting us.

The bottom line is technology has its good and bad about it. We as human beings, we need to be more aware of things we post on social media because if you are not you become a target.

Things you should never post on Social Media :

  • Home alone
  • Do not to disclose Β your location when you are posting, you never know who is following you
  • Try not a post nude pictures on the phone
  • Keep your relationship issues private, I know is hard but do not make yourself an open book.
  • Some people say do not complain about your work on Facebook because your boss might be reading (I don’t know isn’t Facebook my personal page has nothing to do with my work)

What do you hate about Technology ?

      Hi Celeste

It is getting out of control and we will start being paranoid(I am already).

There is too much information out there. We need to filter, filter and filter what we share.

Thank you for visiting πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I yell at people all the time for posting vacation pictures while they are still on vacation. Seems like a good way to come home to an empty house. My biggest peeve is how social media has given everyone a platform to shout out their opinions all the time. Every once in a while its OK to sit out a debate #twinklytuesday

      Hi Jeremy

Lol it is a nice way to come to an empty home but people don’t listen and they are addicted to sharing just about everything πŸ™‚ :-). Oh yes there is a lot of debate its annoying sometimes:-)

You really shouldn’t post about work as you can be breaching confidentiality and if you were friends with a colleague or things were accidentally public, you can lose your job or be sued! Thanks for joining the #weekendblogshare

I hate how it just sucks time down a black hole. One minute I’m ‘briefly’ checking Facebook or Twitter, and then next I find it’s an hour later.

I am often disturbed at how little grace we have for one another, especially on social media. Because their is a false sense of security we often say unnecessary judgmental things that would have been better left unsaid.

I have such a love, hate relationship with technology! I love how we can all express ourselves, but at the same time I dislike the fact that it is so easy to bully, and become keyboard warriors!

I also have a lot of things that i hate about technology like it’s supposed to make your work load easier, but sometimes it just add more to it. I never post pictures of me while i might be away from home, if i want to ahare something like an interesting place i will post it when i’m at home anyway.

these are all too true! I think what I hate most about the internet is that it can make people so impersonal and fake now. People are always on their phone, tuning everyone out, never having a real conversation. I miss the connection of a good conversation that’s face to face. Also, the bullying that ensues online when people don’t have to face the person they’re harassing.

I feel more balanced when I take a social media break every now and then. It helps reset my perspective a bit.

I was slightly amused that you said “try” not to post nude pictures. I certainly “try” not to do that πŸ˜‰

I sometimes get Facebook envy. You know, everyone is posting pictures of their perfect lives and yours is really crappy? I also observe that no one seems to be able to be alone any more. No one is alone with their thoughts, they are always on the phone, texting, FB, etc. Whatever happened to solitude?

      Hi Emily

I use to feel so sad for myself that I didn’t have such a glamorous life to Facebook, but then again nothing is as it seems.
Technology is ruining human connection we might as well be robots πŸ™
